Wow. That was a poor review. More like a model overview or something. Barely any benchmark results or testing at all. How is if for gaming? How is it for Photoshop? How much faster is it than the previous model? Is it worth the price upgrade? What about other options and upgrades?

I know we can find a lot of that info elsewhere but this is not a review.

Agree - that was a piss poor review (if you would even call it that).

Fingers-crossed that Anandtech has a review soon.....

Engadget has been progressively getting worse, this just accentuates this feeling of mine.

Agreed on all counts. This was the worst review I've ever read. They may as well have not bothered. Sounds like they put it together an hour before the deadline--not sure what took them so long, I could have written that review without owning the iMac

What´s the matter?

I think that article was quite good. I´d give a B+

Yes, no benchmark, no FPS numbers, no geekbench score whatsoever.
But it may because not everybody actually as geek as us about Mac machines :D

And remember, who do you think the majority people who purchase iMac? They´re just humble parents whose kids need a computer, or some business person who doesn´t look gamey at all :p

I oftenly hang around my local :apple: reseller just to toying up with things, and people who looks into an iMac usually a couple of young family, or a pack of family, their kids look at shiny iMac and ask their parent to buy it for them, which oftenly doesn´t happen too :p

But truly, if the parents bought it for them, I´d envy them, I buy my iMac with my own hard-earned money .. wow sorry what did I do :p

Back to topic ..
So, for common folks, I think that review was clear and to the point. Not perfect, and not geeky enough .. but that´ll do

Thanks for sharing the link. Maybe not technical, but basic and informative.. more for me to drool over while I contemplate the 2011 mini update. I am waiting to see what the top end mini will do for me.:)

The people reading that review are not the "usual" parents that are buying an iMac-they don't know about engadget.com. It was pretty lame. Their old reviews had many, important sections unlike this one.

It's interesting that they hooked that 27" up to the 2 Dell 30" monitors right after the refresh yet this comes out so late and it's so abismal? Weird. As for the games and photoshop questions: the BTO ones have only this week begun to arrive (if ordered online) so more of these results will begin to appear soon enough.
