iPod Apple in-ear earphones + 6th gen Nano

Hello, i just purchased the new nano and im loving it, however the volume controls do not work with the ipod. I tried the earphones with my iphone 4 and it worked fine, is anyone else having this problem and fixed it ?

I haven't heard of this problem before, you might want to try a different pair of headphones.
