Apple Insider & MacNN the same site? (in incognito)

I noticed that every time the AppleInsider website goes down, so does the MacNN site. This has happened a few times, including the time I was writing this post.

So the question is.....

- Is AppleInsider and MacNN owned by the same person (incognito)

- Are they both hosted with the same unreliable webhost

The MacNN site is pretty useless to me but they have an off chute site called http://www.leftlanenews.com/ which is just incredible.
