Do we have any more information on this? I understand that the integration with ChatGPT won’t happen in China. I also understand that any features going out to Apple’s own Ai servers won’t happen.

But what about the segment of features that happen on device?

Also, how exactly will it be blocked? Will using a VPN work? What about a non-Chinese AppleID and device region/language set to US-English?

Since Apple Intelligence will be happening primarily on-device with on-device data and will not be bringing in “unapproved” data from outside, I suspect that there will be no problem with “AI”.

Apple will probably need to partner with Baidu or some other Chinese AI chatbot to provide approved access to “world data”.
