Apple invoices email address which one is used ?

When I order items from Apple website, I receive my email confirmation but it’s going to my Hotmail email address. This Hotmail email address is also listed under my sign and security , email and phone numbers as is my iCloud email and alias.
I was under the impression that the email confirmation would be sent to my Apple ID email not the Hotmail one ? Moving forward how do I get invoices and order confirmations sent to my iCloud email? Thanks. Just wondering, is it because I may have entered the Hotmail email addy during check out ?

Are you using Apple Pay? Check 'Transaction Defaults' in 'Wallet & Apple Pay' to see which email address is set there. You could be giving them your Hotmail address that way. You can always change it during checkout though.
