i upgraded my aging iPADs with a new 10.5 iPAD Pro and shortly after upgraded to the beta to get multitasking and the new interface. Experience up thruough iOS beta 11.0.7 seven was good ( A- ).

Since 11.0.8 the experience has been downright dreadful as the iPAD is now basically tethered for charging 90% of the time. I used to be able to go days without recharging, now I don’t get out of single digits unless I leave the system plugged in and charging for at least a day and after unplugging, back ti single digits in hous.

Usage patterns have not changed through this time. Only where I used the iPAD has changed as now I have a four feet leash.

11.1 has changed nothing.

In the last seven days, 82% of the time has been in Safari and Flipboard. 19.5 hours on screen in Safari and 14.8 hours on screen in Flipboard with only 4 min in background. For a device that is rated for 10 hours of browsing on a single charge, having to be tethered for 7 straight days, less than 40 hours of use while charging and never seeing 100 charged is ridiculous.

What am I missing since beta 8 that could be causing this?

Thanks in advance

hm...
Are the charger and cable working correctly? My iPad Pro charges without issues even while being used when proper (aka: Apple) charger is used. On the other hand, charging from car charger, with bad cable, malfunctioning or partially functioning charger have caused me headaches. Sometimes they work "partially" - some voltage is coming through but not enough.
This looks more like hardware problem than software issue. If that started at some point (may be coincident with OS upgrade) may be hardware broke?
Did you try changing charger and cable? If yes, I would take to Apple store and ask them to look at it.
