iPad Pro Apple iPad Pro smart folio vs amazon alternatives

I bought a 12.9 folio a 2 yrs ago from amazon and though the material was pretty decent. However, now that I have a 2020 ipad, i was thinking what is the different between the Apple Smart Folio for the iPad Pro and the cheap amazon folio. The one reason why I would want the apple smart folio is the really great surf blue color they have. The other amazon cases are actually quite boring dull dark colors. Is the apple smart folio worth the extra cash?

I have the original Apple smart folio and several knock-off from ESR and Moko for iPad 2018 11”. The original is lighter at 175g while the knockoffs hover around ~210g. Also the original is thiner, same sturdiness and the suede fabrics is softer. But i find the knock-off outer material is slightly more durable then the original, it fares better from scratches and less rubbery compared to the apple one. Unless you absolutely need the thinnest and lightest solution, i recommend getting one from the third party instead. Although the new surf blue / cactus color makes me wanna get it despite the price difference and the 2020 version comes with apple logo too..

That surf blue color is one of the reasons I'm getting a smart folio.

Agree. I use both ESR and Moko cases and they are quite good and with a much better texture than the Apple offerings.

Yeah, it's a matter of personal preference. I hate that Apple texture and won't buy any case with it.

ok good to hear. wish there was even a $40 dollar option that is comprable to the apple folio in weight and thinness.
