Does the Apple pen allow 3D Touch like operation on the 12.9" 1st gen?

If so does it function the same as like iPhone 7 3D Touch ?
Thank you

Sorry Apple Pencil

Just toying around. :)

The Apple Pencil does have a 3-D dimensionality to it when drawing, but the sensors for that are in the Pencil itself and not the display of the iPad. From a technical standpoint, Apple could probably enable force touch-like features with the Apple Pencil, but they wouldn’t do that because you wouldn’t be able to force touch with your finger. Apple just wouldn’t fragment their features like that.

Thanks
Does the new iPad 12.9 have 3D Touch or they left it out ?
If they did leave it out is it because of the pencil features? You all think ?

No, neither of the iPads have Force Touch (3D Touch). That is because at this time it is expensive and difficult to build that technology into a screen as big as the iPads. Hopefully we'll see it in a year or three, but there are no guarantees.

Im not sure it will ever work with a display as big as an iPad.
Iirc they used some sort of strain gauges. I’ve never seen them for surfaces as large as an iPhone (most issued in industries are post stamp size or smaller) but I guess using them on iPad sized formats would be really difficult.

Thank you to all !!
Glad I paid 615 total for 1st gen 128 GB recon with Apple warranty to march next year then, love this 12.9" screen.

Hope it was a good buy , lol
A few weeks ago, and I don't have the money for a new version, 900 plus tax is just not in budget for me.

We are getting most if not all of the new iOS 11 features right ?
Thank you
