I know that the iPhone will integrate with my Mac better than basically anything else, so I'm still set on getting it. Visual voicemail rules, and I love the new iPod interface. QWERTY keyboard's nice, but I'm still willing to take a gamble that the on-screen keyboard on the iPhone will be pretty usable. (I also have a feeling they'll create a larger "sideways" orientation for it at some point.)
sliding QWERTY keypad is exactly what a smart smartphone should have .. (speaking from experience after having used iPaq for 2 years) touchscreen, no matter how fancy, just doesnt do it ... although i havent used iphones touchscreen keypad yet so i am not saying anything...
Samsung is not Mac compatable... Enough to deter most people on MR from getting 1
well being a Mac fan doesn't mean that u need to get everything mac

While your second point is true, your first isn't really relevant. Being a Mac user doesn't mean you need to get everything Apple makes, but it USUALLY means you need to get things that are at least COMPATIBLEwhich the Samsung phone in question isn't.
it COULD be mac compatible if samsung feels like it but i highly doubt it as they are going to be competitors. However, I know plenty of MR users have bootcamp with xp and u don't have to sync your phone everyday.
it's a small inconvenience for a phone that IMO "seems" to be better than the iPhone. I'll know after both are out in the market and have gone extensive reviews.

I doubt that Samsung will be offered by any US carrier.
As for Boot Camp to sync your phone, how will Boot Camp'ing into XP get your OS X Address Book contacts, Safari bookmarks, iPhoto albums and iTunes music onto the phone?
I missed where you said why you thought the Samsung was better. Is it just the slideout keyboard?

If the Samsung is Windows Mobile phone you have that option with what could technically be called third party software(I say technically because the Treo 750 has it and a group of developers extracted that software to make it work on all wm phones). It works exactly like a im message or threaded message as it is known.
Then again I rather have the Toshiba G900
I think the 2 biggest features that make me want the iPhone over the Samsung is Mac OS instead of Windows Mobile and the ability to play my songs downloaded from iTunes.
Samsung phones are pretty nice but the lack of syncing is a deal killer.
However Missing Sync can be used with the windows mobile based devices like this.
Windows mobile (if anything like pocket pc which i had on an hp pda) is then the deal killer
