So if you look at my previous post I was complaining about a horrible job an apple store did with my MacBook. I called Apple and I talked to a senior advisor after. He was outraged when I sent him pictures of the condition of my MacBook and was puzzled with why the store took so long to give me back my MacBook. I dropped it off two weeks ago and in the notes it said that they fixed the issues after 2 days but only called me to pick it up after two weeks. When I got my computer it was not in the same condition I left it in. It was scratched beyond belief and the rubber part on the bottom was dirty with smudges and fingerprints. I was having issues with the screen and the trackpad. On my receipt it said that they had ordered a case module and a new trackpad.
When I picked up my MacBook my trackpad had been replaced but the screen had not. They said they did a level 1 hardware fix on it. But when I got home the issue was still there on the screen. It is basically a dense area of red pixels. The trackpad seems to be working perfectly now and registering everything correctly. So after spending more than an hour on the phone with the advisor he told me that he was going to replace everything on the computer including the screen and the entire casing. I was extremely satisfied at this point and was happy that the advisor was being so helpful and understanding. Then he told me that due to my troubles he was going to compensate me with anything worth $150 and below at the apple store. He suggested the new nano.
So in the end, I did have an awful experience at the store but a wonderful experience with customer service over the phone. I love apple and I stand by their products but some of the retail stores should consider hiring better workers. He also said that once I receive my MacBook and if it still not fixed that he will replace the entire unit with another MacBook. He was very helpful and kind that I am feeling much better now! I can only get my nano after I receive my computer back, he gave me his email and phone number and told me to call once I receive it.
I already have a 5th generation nano in purple and I am satisfied with it. Maybe I should give the 6g to someone for a Christmas present or something. What do you think? Should I keep my current iPod or use the new one I'm going to receive? Thanks for reading such a long post. I just wanted to share a happy ending to a nightmare!
Oh and the MacBook is the 2009 unibody MacBook in white I bought it in May and it has Apple Care.
