Is Apple really selling a 2010 refurb for MORE than the new 2012 model?!

http://store.apple.com/us/product/G0LF1LL/A

It's S$%T like this, Apple....

(Let the hate mail begin-- I've never seen such a strong support base for this company given their opinions of us professionals are the lowest I've seen in the 25-years I've supported them...... I will leave the possibility open that I must be reading the specs incorrectly and I may be wrong... I just can't believe this)

I think Apple's mind is pretty tight, myself.

Plus, isn't the six core a BTO Westmere chip?

First of all, the 2012 Mac Pro is exactly the 2010 Mac Pro with changes only in CPU clock frequencies and RAM.

The 2012 base model is much less powerful than the 6-core 3.33 GHz refurbished 2010 Mac Pro.

Yes.

Email them if it bothers you so much, not like anyone here can do anything about it. It'll be an oversight (unlikely), an accounting issue or greed. Good luck getting it changed :)

So... don't buy one refurbished?

What does "S$%T like this" even mean? For years, refurbished prices have generally been better than "new." In this particular instance, it's different. Either way, it still pays to be a savvy shopper and do some comparisons; and Apple prices are still high. The status quo has not changed in the slightest.

So why not buy the NEW one.

So why wouldnt you buy the new 2012 model rather than buying a refurbished one. You are still saving money on it !!
I dont understand the problem here.
