It all started when I bought an Apple 23 HD Display from them. They took my money really quick! Pay the day before and it ship next day. After it being ship I see a charge on my Credit Card. After I get the Display it have 8 stuck pixels, severe backlight bleed, and the foam inside that protect it was crush. I decided to return it to get my money back. I phone Apple Care and arrange for it to be send back. They send me an RMA number with shipping label through my email. I ship it back using their label with the original box. 3 days later, they received my package and send me an email stating they have received my return. I was shock when I read the email from Apple, it's plain ridiculous and make me very upset! This is what the email look like......

Can you believe the nerve of them to tell me that I will received $0 on my return? So they decided to take my money and the display as well!? Make me very mad! So I rang them up right away after the reading the email. After connected to a real live person I explain him the situation, but he make excuse like After a return is received, it will take 5 - 10 working days to see a credit back. I explain to him again that Apple is telling me I will received $0 for my return. He put me on hold and look into the problem. Come back to me after 5 minutes and said that he initiated a credit refund for my return and I should see within 3 to 5 business day. At this time, I thought my problem have been solved. I ask for his name just to be sure this isn't just some lies.

Turn out he just lies to me so I will forget about it. After 1 and a half weeks passed, I check my Visa Card and see no refund being added. I'm seriously thinking of Disputing the charges with Apple! So damn ridiculous! This is a lot of money to be loosing! Why in hell would it take this long to get my credit refund? Seam like they won't issue me a Credit refund! I need the money back to buy another LCD. I can't just sit here forever without a monitor. Seam like they like taking money real fast, but returning it is complete opposite! Even Dell do better job refunding my money! Damn you Apple! To hell with you! I'm never buying anything from you again!

ugg ok, MacRumors is not apple. MacRumors users, are not Apple. The only people that are Apple are at Apple.com, Apple retail locations and their respective 1-800 numbers.

There is NOTHING MacRumors members can do for you, yes there was obviously an accounting mistake here, but coming onto a 3rd party sight and crying about it will get you nowhere.

I would suggest talking to your bank and explaining it to them and see if there was any attempt at a $0 refund made. I would also call Apple again and explain the situation again. If that doesn't help then dispute the charges.

But once again, MacRumors is not Apple, and coming onto MacRumors and cursing out Apple does not help you get your money back.

Just to Clarify

MacRumors = No Apple

It says that you'll receive a check within 30 days. It doesn't sound as though you've been cheated. It just sounds as if you didn't understand the terms before you bought.

We at MacRumors can't help you. Good luck with it.

that definitely sucks but they tend to include all of this before hand in the fine print that you prolly didnt see. it is ridiculous that you have to wait so long for the money, but id make sure there was no possible way you could have seen any of this comning from their legal documents before going to war. there is no way they are going to just take your money and LCD, it takes a while to weed thru the red tape

I know that Mac Rumors isn't Apple. I just want to let people know that Apple isn't perfect and make sure you read all their policy before buying. I alway thought Apple Customer Service was one of the best, well not anymore. I pay with Credit Card, so there is no way it take 30 days for them to send me a Check. The reason I post this is anyway to get suggestion on what to do before even filing a Dispute against them since they are such a large company? Well, I just want to get it out to let some steam out but I feel better.

I'm going to give them a chance to fix it, I'm going to wait another weeks and see if Credit Refund show up. Then I phone them again and try to solved this issue, if not I'm just going to dispute with my Credit Card company. It's a good thing I alway use Credit Card to pay stuff online. Imagine if I wired or pay Cash!

Thanks.

*Snore*

Nothing to do with Apple, well, not true entirely, but these things take time. Apple takes time to process things, banks take time to process things.

I tell you what, ill ring Steve and get him to drop everything, all the other returns, all the other refunds, all the xmas stuff and process your return for you, then, when you have to wait for the bank you'll have just enough time to gather all those toys you've thrown allllll over the floor and put your dummy back in. Deal?

You are a CASH paying customer as stated in the letter. The reason they say you will receive $0 is because they will be refunding $0 to your card.

"Cash payments are refunded in the form of a check from Apple, which
will be mailed to the billing address within 30 days."

Wait 30 days and you should receieve a check.

Can you smell that as well Boobs, or is it just me?

No I have a cold so I missed it.

I guess they think he is a cash customer for some reason and so will issue a cheque but if i was the OP I would make it clear I payed with a card.

Why would they send me a Check when I pay with Credit Card? The first time I call them, I clearly told him that I pay with Credit Card. He said he process the credit for me and I would be seeing it within 3 - 5 business day. After the 6th day have past, I didn't any credit being issue when I check with my bank. I call again and I got another excuse telling me holiday are coming and it could take another weeks. BS! I told him I wait another weeks and I will call back, and he say it will not take that long. We will see.

I'm using a ViewSonic 15 inch monitor to type this and it's very digusting! I have to turn down brightness to 35 and I can barely see what I type. I just want my money back so I can grab another monitor before the holiday end, because during Christmas I can get up to $150 off buying 24 Inch LCD monitor. I cannot keep waiting like this with continues lies, I thought only Dell does this. But Dell refund my money and I see it within 4 business days, so why can't Apple do the same for me? I guess lots of Apple fanboi out there reply to this thread today. Seam to be taken Apple side. Let see what happend when you loose 1K and have to fight for it!

If you are genuine I feel for you - I really do. I was in a similar position a year back (although not with Apple) and especially when money is tight, it's a bad situation.

The thing is, there are processes set up to help you, it just takes a ridiculously large amount of time, and you earn no interest (of course) in the meantime. Very annoying, and time wasting.

All I can suggest is to 1) Don't order things online, and go to a retailer if you can. 2) Don't telephone-order, as these tend to be the very worst type of purchasing method.

Of course, I still order of the internet, but anything of value, I now go in-store shopping where I can.

That's not what the original post said:

You people need to read the freaking e-mail that was sent to Neonguy:

Credit card refunds are sent to the card-issuing bank within five

posted to your account, please contact the card issuer.

Cash payments [this is NOT a cash payment] are refunded in the form of a check from Apple, which
will be mailed to the billing address within 30 days.

Apple Gift Card [this is NOT a gift card payment]payments are refunded in the form of a new Apple Gift
Card, which will be mailed within two days.

Saying that a check is sent instead of receiving a credit is BS.

Neonguy, I would personally dispute this with your credit card company.

And just for your information, assuming that your situation is genuine, don't expect too much sympathy from most of the folks on this forum. To them, Apple never makes mistakes.

The problem is they keep giving me excuse each time I call like they want me to forget about it. Christmas is coming soon, and after Christmas is over I have to pay $150 more dollar for an LCD I'm waiting to order but don't have the money yet because Apple still hold it.

And of course it's Genuine. Look at the email I got. It would drive anyone insane!

Look what I ended up with on my setup now. Can we say Disgusting!? I have to live with this setup until Apple give my money back so I can buy another LCD! Yeah, I shouldn't buy online but I didn't want to get out because of Christmas. It's crazy out there.

Enjoy my beautiful setup...:(

What does everyone think of this 24 LCD BTW? It is on sale on NewEgg for $799.00 with Free Shipping. I also have a Coupon knock it down $40 off! It expired on Christmas. So as you can see why I'm so mad because Apple is holding my money.

Am I reading this right?

The date on your email from Apple was Thursday 12/14.

That was only 7 calendar days (5 business days) ago.

Basically call your credit card company and get them to reverse the charges. They will do it straight away and you can stop stressing.

Then stop being a spoilt moron and complaining about your 15" CRT. I used a 15" CRT for months while deciding what to do about the blown backlight on my 19" TFT and didn't complain once. Do you know why ? Because having a cry about it doesn't solve anything it just makes you seem like an idiot.

Now hurry up and call your credit card company so you can get your benq (which I wouldn't suggest but I guess it gives you more chance to have a winge)

Cheers
Kane Elson

Good spot, I think someone is being melodramatic here.
