According to an AppleCare employee there was an article posted about the issue for employees stating that the software fix for the flickering that some users [including me!] are still experiencing after the display firmware update 1.0 being released in 3 weeks is also supposed to solve the yellowing of the display.
I don't understand how that's possible- for software to fix what clearly seems like a hardware issue, but she was reading the article as she was on the phone with me.
She also said if I'm still experiencing the issue after the update I am able to just get an LCD replacement, which would be fine by me. I'd rather that than replace a machine that's otherwise perfect and doesn't have the HDD noise issues or anything.
I thought this was curious. Either way, Apple's customer was great as usual and she was very helpful, so here's hoping Apple found some way to fix the issue via software! That'd definitely be ideal.
