I placed an order for an iMac last week and the estimate was 5-7 weeks, arriving by early august because I wanted it with extra memory and storage.

Today my card got charged and then my order progress said delivery July 7-14. Then got an email saying it would be here on June 21, and now my order status and UPS tracking link say this Friday 😁

I’ll be migrating from a 2019 MacBook, so intel to M1. I do time machine backups and will keep the laptop for a few days at least, to make sure everything is working as it should on the new one.

Any tips for migrating? Should I do the time machine import or just manually bring over specific files - and if the latter, what’s the best way to keep Music intact (I have a large music library of imported CDs)

Use Migration Assistant but with Thunderbolt and disable Wi-Fi; otherwise, you'll be stuck for like 2 days doing the transferring of data.
That's not been an issue previously, thankfully. I was leaning towards keeping it a clean install so I don't inadvertently bring over any gremlins from this laptop. I don't think I've ever used Thunderbolt - it needs it's own cable right?
