This 'Cloud' fever is the weirdest thing I've ever seen. Really not exciting if you've dealt with the machines for a long time.
Also I think there is a bit of censorship on anything that is negative to the Cloud (and/or iPhones & iPads). I own iPhones, iPads, iPods - I just don't base my whole existence on them. I could care less if the case size of an iPhone grows a millimeter.
As for the Cloud mess, the real problem is how to opt out of this stuff. Most people are technically illiterate and don't know what they are signing on to. Like agreeing to a EULA - people just do it without thinking.
I would use the cloud if I had more control of what goes up there. But they want too much info. Frankly I don't need the cloud as I run proper backups and do my own syncing. Although I doubt anyone would care about my data, the fact remains that it is in fact mine - and I'll decide where it goes.
Finally, like anything, if you don't exercise a 'right,' that 'right' will wither away.
