Recently I dropped my iphone 5s dropped in the water... I've done everything to turn on but failed.

Since I'm from another country and I bought the device on US, I want to send to repair on a unauthorized place to estimate how much it would cost to fix it.

If the price is too high, I would go to US and pay the 269 Obamas to swap for a brand new device.

Soooo my question is: On Apple store they can find out if I open the device to further repairs and refuse to give me a new one?

They almost always can. There are certain indicators within the phone that will appear different if the phone was opened by any means other than by a genius. In this case, Apple is within its right to deny you warranty service.

You can always send the phone in to an Apple authorized repair service in your home country. You can find more information about that on your country's Apple support page.

I've already checked, and here in brazil, they are prohitibed to give me support since the US 5S's model that i bought is not legally commercial here.

Even if the place doesnt change the phone at all, only open to see the damage, when i go to the store they simply see the phone was dead and replace it, or they'll first check the phone first?

269 Obamas? What is an Obama?

And yes, Apple will know if someone else has done repairs and it will void your warranty.

Obamas = dollars :D:D

My iphone is already out of the warranty, so I would pay for the 269 Dollars to swap for a new one. My question is, if the device is ONLY OPENED to check the damage, It would be visible to the genius guy

If it's that water damaged don't even bother. Replace it for that out of warranty cost.

It depends, we can't tell you yes an no.

Officially, once the phone has been opened by a third party, it's not eligible for any service - paid or warranty.

In practice - everybody is different. If you've opened and closed it perfectly and they don't see any damage, they may offer you an OOW swap. If you've made a right hash of opening it, then they may not. It's down to the person on the day.

There are indicators in your iPhone which not only show whether your phone has been opened or not but also has water damaged or not.

They can tell if there is wear on the screws and the phone has never been serviced by Apple before.
They will always open a device that wont power on to investigate. They will know that it has been opened.

Contact Apple online and ask them what your options are. I know that when you travel outside the states, you can have them fix or repair it.

Maybe you can ship it to a friend in the states and have them take it to an Apple store?
