Apple laptop+iPod deal?

Hey everyone,
Remember how Apple ran a promo within the last cuople of years where, if you bought a new laptop (or maybe even a desktop?), and got an iPod at the same time, you can get a $200 rebate? Has it been a pretty regular promotion? Do they do it every year? Can I expect them to do it again soon? I need a new laptop and a new iPod, and I would wait for the promotion if it's coming up.
If memory serves me correctly, you could also get the $100 printer rebate at the same time. Slick deal!

It was a $179 rebate, essentially a free iPod Mini 4 GB a education pricing, in Summer of 2005. There was an earlier $100 rebate on most solo hardware purchases as well.

Expect to see something for students later on this summer.

I'll have to see what Amazon offers when they stock the MB. No tax for me, plus they usually have killer rebates. The savings offered by the Education store usually get erased by the sales tax, but not if I can combine it with a sweet iPod discount.

I believe 2 years ago when they offered it, they offered a $200 rebate with the purchase of an iPod. Last year I think it was $179 off any iPod Mini or greater. I wouldn't be suprised if the offere was offered this year, but decreased further. It started in August IIRC last year.

Not sure if it will happen again this year but if so last year it started in early June because I remember being shocked at how early they had back to school promotions.

I certainly do hope they offer something soon. I'm chomping at the bit for a new MB and iPod. But I suspect it won't be too long before we see an iPod revision (maybe Thursday?), so they may hold off on the promotion until it's been out several weeks.
