Is there a way to change the colour of the apple light from white to something diffrent when I close my Laptop? I have heard it was possible but i can't say I have ever seen this before. Does anyone know how to do this if possible?

the light you are seeing is simply from the backlight of the lcd. the apple logo is translucent, and that's why it illuminates. that said, there is no easy way to change its color. however, i do have a good friend who took the back plate off of the display on his ibook and put some stage light filters in there to color it like the original rainbow apple. but that was quite a tricky mod. basically, there's no real way to do it without tearing the computer apart.

Thanks for the info. It seems like a bit more work than i want to do! And i dont know if the warrenty will still be in effect if i started taking things off!! But who knows maybe one day ill get bored and just go for it.

No, this will definitely void your warranty. If you're going to do it, best to do it on a Mac that isn't critical to you and has an expired warranty, that way you've got less to lose. BTW, I've seen a kid around school with a 12" PowerBook that has done the multi-colored Apple mod. Looks pretty cool.

Ya, that's what I figured. I mean sure it would look a bit diffrent from everyone elses, but if it breaks down in 3 years I want to be able to get it fixed for free. I will just save my colour changing knowledge for 3 years and do it then! lol
