I know this has been posted in 2 threads where misleading/inccurate info has been posted about graphics cards & card readers in the new iMacs. I thought if a company lists something in the system info - you'd think it would be true? In a thread on this forum, it has been posted that based on the DeviceID, that the graphics card is a ATI Radeon 5850M, but here is what it says in my 27" i5-760 under Graphics/Displays:

ATI Radeon HD 5750:

Chipset Model: ATI Radeon HD 5750
Type: GPU
Bus: PCIe
PCIe Lane Width: x16
VRAM (Total): 1024 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x68a1
Revision ID: 0x0000
ROM Revision: 113-B9710C-238
EFI Driver Version: 01.00.417

There is also a comment in another thread that all the new iMacs list the card reader as SDHC, not SDXC. This is true - see below:

Built in SD Card Reader:

Type: SDHC
Vendor ID: 0x05ac
Product ID: 0x8403
Revision: 1.00

So are the Apple engineers making typos in the system info, or are they just guilty of not telling the public what's really in the iMacs? I would have bought the iMac anyway - but I was considering a refurbished i7-860 for the same price as a new i5-760. We bought new because of the yellowing issue I read about in the older 27" models; the SDXC reader & faster video card (which I didn't realize was a mobile one). Another reason was we could walk out of the Apple store that day with the iMac rather than wait for the refurb from the online apple store.

All in all we love the new iMac - but I am concerned about misleading or wrong info listed in the System Profiler. I'll do some more checking & may call Apple to see why this is the case.

I hear what you're saying, it's not just a one-off as alot of people have said the same thing. It seems a bit dodgy as they're minor things, except the graphics card, but you can't go around false advertising.

I thought of going with the refurb i5 as over here there are no i7s in store, but wanted the 1GB graphics card and like you was scared of getting one with a problem.
