I’m curious if there’s an internal time limit that Apple has built into iOS that signs you out if you haven’t used the device in awhile? My kids were away for the weekend, iPads stayed here, today they came back and went to use their iPads and all 3 were signed out of iTunes account.

They are all set up for family sharing under me and require permission before being able to purchase. So on top of being signed out, after they were signed back in, all required the 2FA to be able to purchase anything after I gave Apple the approval because it wanted to re verify payment information

Needless to say this was incredibly frustrating and absolutely pointless considering how it is set up. I have screen time set up, app stores purchases and all that are set to allow and require passcode each time is also turned off.

Is there something else I’m missing here? Doesn’t do it all the time but this has happened before for no reason

Some services may "time out" and ask to renter the password, but normally not with 2FA and not after just two days.
I had my old XS Max turned off for nearly a month after switching to Pro Max and wasn't ask for my password apart from manually opening billing information in the icloud settings.

Getting signed out of all devices / forced to relog normally only happens if you manually remove a device from your iCloud account(not signing out but removing it with an other device or on icloud.com)

I’m the only one that has account control. But again today, all 3 signed out. And 2 of them were just used yesterday

I don't have any sort of family sharing, but none of my Apple devices have ever signed me out regardless of how long they went unused.
