I had my ipod video in my purse along with some baby food. Guess what? The baby food leaked pineapple onto my ipod, making the scrollwheel sticky.
Everything still worked just fine, except that it wouldn't recognize my headphones. I restored it, and it worked fine for the night -- had a full charge.
This morning, however, things changed. When turning on my ipod, it flashed a dead battery at me (fully charged last night). It then would loop between trying to turn itself on, dead battery, blah blah. Plugging it in to charge just yields a flashing dead battery icon. It won't accept a charge.
I can't restore it again, since my computer won't recognize it (as it is has no charge), yet it won't accept a charge (not even from a AC wall unit).
I've ordered a new battery to see if replacing it could help. Can getting a little wet/sticky fry the battery? I opened up the case and cleaned it really well, but the problem persists.
