Got my base model 13” M1 MacBook Pro today, set it up, installed the latest Big Sur update, charged it to 100% been using safari for most of the day, watched a few videos, ran a few Geekbench benchmarks, all at 50% brightness.

Just over 5 hours of usage, battery was at 92% absolutely amazing, still can’t believe it.

If i was using my old 13” 2016 MacBook Pro I’d most likely have 30% battery life left.

Good riddance intel, hello apple silicone. ?

Overall this machine is a pleasure to use, anyone thinking of buying one won’t be disappointed.

Woah! That’s great to hear.

What about ram? When using multiple apps and running safari or chrome with multiple tabs does it still feel fast?

Amazing, that's what's critical for me, if the MBA/MBP M1 only performed as well as their predecessors but achieved the quoted battery life I'd be delighted.

Sounds great! As someone who has been living with a laptop with 2 hours of battery life, I'm looking forward to this.

(Although there is a huge difference between silicon and silicone... ?)

Honestly can’t tell you about that, mainly use it for browsing the web and entertainment.

Put it this way if I was using my old intel MacBook Pro, I would’ve had 30% battery life left. ?‍♂️?

Well... I’m not sure WHAT to make of it, as it says it was last charged back up to 26%. How often have you been plugging it in since 6pm yesterday?

I have a MBP 16gb/1tb version and I'm stuck in bed due to a surgery on Monday. My projected battery life is at least 12 hours based on current non-stop usage this morning!

2020 MacBook Air (M1) Base config.

Around 7.5 hours of on-screen time so far. No charge since 100% at 8:51PM yesterday. All that usage yesterday is a combination of watching multiple 4K HDR videos on YouTube, HBO TV Series, a lot of web browsing, some app installations, some iOS app installations and obviously the initial background processes (Spotlight etc). Also, during the whole 5-6 yesterday, I had my Bluetooth headphones connected and active all the time. Not yet today.

Projected screen on time I believe will be around 14-15h. Pretty much what Apple says. I love it.

Geez Louise! This battery life is making me so jealous! I'm trying to be rational and hold out until we see what they do with the rest of the line up but I can't deny... I WANT ONE NOW ?.

I worked for about four hours today mostly doing web browsing and text editing, and then did a one hour video chat. Battery went down from 100% to 89%. I'm truly blown away. Best new technology in years. MBA 16g/512g/8c.
