As of September 23 Amazon has only the mac pro 4-core and 6-core models, and the 6-core is identified as having been discontinued.

If it wasn't true, it wouldn't be on the interweb.... ;)

Anyway, live and learn. I would expect apple, as with any vendor, to announce a product end of life target date rather than stealthily reveal such through amazon retailers.

So... Mac Pro update soon? :D
Yup...to update you with a bad news.

old news. this has been posted before. notice that that it is not an official Amazon product but sold through a janky 3rd party. there are plenty of Mac Pros for sale on Amazon that are not discontinued products.
But then again...it shouldn't say "D/C'ed by manufacture." But then again...apple website is still selling it.

Well the nMP is not called the can for nothing:D

Like nobody saw it coming. You release a computer looking like a trash can. And provide no upgrade path for it. Which makes sense, nobody upgrades their trash. Surely you should have seen it coming.

The Mac Pro likely is end of life. They'll sell its current version until sales decline into 0.

But it will likely eventually come down to the iMac and one portable version. The iPhone era is here, expect the Mac line to follow suit.

Waiting for the desktop iPhone computer and iPad to replace the entire product line.

While I'd really loved to be proved wrong by Apple releasing a proper Mac Pro in the supposed October update, I guess they will be downsizing the product range and having 2 flavours of iMac and a couple of Laptops in their product line. They seem more interested in watch straps than the Mac these days.

I can see something along these lines as a plausible (disappointing) outcome. Maybe a monster imac that will 'take care of' those needing a mac pro.
