That's about 18 years old now, right?

If so, "fixing it" probably isn't relevant any more...

runs fast and works great so just looking to fix the keyboard

That must be a prototype, as there is no A1154 model for MacBook Pro.
Can you recheck the model number? It should be where you find the serial number for your system, inside the battery bay.
Even the EMC number will help you identify the specific model that you have.

Remove the battery... Is there any evidence inside of any swelling, or anything that looks out of position?

The keyboard is fairly easy to replace. Just remove the top case, and the keyboard is right there-- just a few screws.
Best method is to get a copy of Apple's service guide, the steps are a bit different, depending on which model you have, and the screen size--- 15 or 17-inch.

I doubt that you will find new replacement keyboards for a nearly 20-year-old laptop. But, your important first step is to look inside to find out what is causing that wave in the keyboard. (Maybe it is waving to say "Good-bye" )

I can’t help you with your main question, but you might have better luck in the Early Intel part of these forums where you’ll find more likeminded users.
