Hi.

After upgrading to macOS Sonoma 14.1, I have an issue with my Magic Keyboard. When I try to use the fingerprint, while the keyboard is connected via Bluetooth, the whole keyboard stops responding. In the Bluetooth panel it seems to be connected, but I can't type or try to use the fingerprint again anywhere. I have to switch the keyboard off and on in order to get it working again. This doesn't happen ( at least until now ) when I plug the keyboard to MacStudio via USB-C.

Any idea why this could be happening? Or it's just another bug introduced in every macOS iteration? ( I always wonder what the Beta program's purpose is, if they never fix the bugs they introduce during the trial period ).

you could try completely removing it from bluetooth, and adding it back clean. i have not had any dropouts here with my apple keyboard & my M2 mini, since beta 1...

Will try and check if that works. Thank you :) Edit: Nope, that doesn't solve the issue. :'(

have you rebooted since the problem started? and, if it's just the fingerprint, perhaps you can re-do that... anyway, just guessing here, good luck with this!
Thank you for all your recommendations. Yes, I have rebooted at least 3 times, removed the fingerprint and added a new one,... I think is a problem with the Bluetooth and the Touch ID chip. It works with another computer I still haven't upgraded to 14.1, so I'm pretty sure it's a Bluetooth issue introduced in the latest macOS iteration. Hope they found the same issue and can solve it.

why not update to 14.1? it may fix it (or not). either way, you could reach out to apple directly...

I've got 4 computers, and the one that have this problem is already upgraded to 14.1. The one that doesn't have this issue is in 14.0. Ok, Apple have never been useful when I had a problem in the past, so will just use the keyboard wired until the issue disappear in a future version. Thank you for you kind answers and support :)

Edit: I think I have identified the issue. Seems the Magic Keyboard stacked when I tried to use the Touch ID in Safari's Private Mode. In the Apple Support website I found a method to restore the Touch ID in the Magic Keyboard using the Lightning cable ( Switch Off/On the keyboard, then immediately connect the cable and reboot the computer ) and seems that reseted the Touch ID through Bluetooth, so now it's working fine again. Thanks again for your support.
