Apple Magic Mouse 2 freezes when used with AirPods Pro on MacBook?

I have a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017). Using Mojave.

I can't seem to properly use both my Airpods Pro and Apple Magic Mouse 2 at the same time.
The AirPods can have the mic stop working or sound drop occasionally.
Or what's happening more often is the mouse cursor stalls for like 5 seconds before it starts to work again every so often.
I tried
  1. to reset the bluetooth module
  2. To forget the airpods and mouse
  3. Reset the airpod pairing
  4. Turning off my 2.4 Ghz Wifi and only using 2.4 Ghz for wifi
Seems to helped for like a few days and then the problem started again.
I then tried reseting the PRAM and that didn't help.
I guess I could try steps 1-3 again... but it's quite an annoying thing to have to do constantly.
Any ideas?
