I have Mail set as follows - Fetch New Data - Off and all my Accounts set to Manual.... Push is set to Off and Fetch set to Manually.

Yet when I open mail I will see Emails in my two POP accounts. For example, I will see 168 emails in POP Acct A, and 124 in POP Account B.

When I open the accounts, these emails are already there....they are not being downloaded after I open the accounts. They actually might update after I open each account.

So I don't understand why these emails are being downloaded to the phone when I have No Fetch and Manual selected.

Anyone have an idea on why this is happening?

Thanks.

When you open mail, is when manual fetch is activated. You are probably seeing the headers that instantly appear while the rest is actually pulled in. I don’t use POP anymore because I read from so many devices. But I seem to remember it working that way. Close the mail app and after several hours check to see if it has used any battery?

Thanks. When I open the Mail app, it sure does seem as if those emails are already on my phone. I even see some new ones downloading. They just aren't showing in the Mail icon on home screen. Oh well. I guess I can live with it. Thanks again for the reply.
