Hello,

I have always used thunderbird to manage my Gmail account (IMAP account). Now I would like to move to apple mail to concentrate more and more on native applications and also because I like the interface more.

My question is if Apple mail fully support Gmail or if I could experience any issue.

What would be your recommendation?

Thanks a lot,
Daniele

I have been using Apple Mail with Gmail accounts for the past five years, when I bought my first Mac. Overall I've had very little problems. Most of them happened in Yosemite but some of those issues seemed to have been fixed in El Capitan....but I've only worked with El Capitan today. I looked at Thunderbird as an alternative last summer but prefer the Apple Mail over that.

Thanks for your reply. Could you please advise the most important settings for an IMAP smooth configuration?
Thanks,

all the settings will be taken care of by gmail ... you will just need to go to apple mail, add account, click the google icon and insert your email address and password .. gmail does on the rest.
