I spend hours trying to get mail in my "outbox" to send and then without changing any setting it works! I am loosing my mind! Please help!

I've found the Mail.app to be very "touchy" at times.

This advice doesn't help with Mail, but I'll offer it anyway:
If Mail's giving you trouble, consider using an "alternate mail app" -- at least as you work your way through Mail's problems.
Could be something like "Thunderbird", "GyazMail", etc.
Just something that lets you send/receive without frustration.

Sometimes it's possible to compare settings between the 3rd-party mail app that works, and Mail.app, and get things sorted out.

Personally, I use webmail exclusively (all of my 7 email accounts are Google / Google Suite). I've never encountered an email client that doesn't suck, Apple Mail included. They're slow, they eat up your disk space, and they're just not necessary anymore.

The closest I've come to an email client that isn't totally awful is AirMail (available on the Mac App Store). But even then, I prefer Gmail in a browser.
