Apple Mail Attachments

Do you have a question in your long post?

Since we're talking about ML, two versions away from current any issues you're dealing with will not be addressed by Apple.
 
I'm hoping someone in this community can tell me if there's a way to attach an image without Apple Mail automatically converting it to html and imbedding it.
