My Apple Mail, which I use for my iCloud email, Outlook email and Google email, always shows that it is using 1.3GB RAM even when I am not composing any email or downloading any attachment or even looking at email.

I have Rebuilt each mailbox and, as soon as it is rebuilt, it goes right back up to 1.3GB RAM usage
I do use the MailButler plugin on Mail - could that be the culprit? Mail Butler shows it is using 1.2GB of RAM on top of Apple Mail using 1.3GB

Thank you.

I just fired up Apple Mail and Activity Monitor shows that it is using 50.3 50.2 MB of RAM.

I didn't expect much more.

After all, even my moldy old backup non-smartphone cellphones can check e-mail.

Likely your plug-in or something else in your environment.

I just quit MailButler and RAM usage went down to 103.0MB
So MailButler causes a 1000% spike in RAM usage
WOW
