Apple Mail unresponsive in Monterey Beta (21A5522H)

My Apple Mail has become super sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooow today, like a turtle moving through a river of molasses...

I am able to reach my various mail services directly and all are speedy, as well as on the iPhone and iPad, so it's not the mail services or my internet connection.

I tried restarting mail, and restarting the computer. Neither helped. Any ideas?

Rebuild the mailboxes. This worked for my Exchange account.
