I planned to meet someone at a Starbucks in a shopping centre when I searched for it in Apple maps it came with Starbucks at xxx shopping centre which looked fine to me. So I sent that address to the person.

Then I found out it was the Starbucks in Safeway not the actual Starbucks which is also in the same area few doors from Safeway .

But when i did the same search on google it gave me the right Starbucks address and the other one showed up as Starbucks in Safeway.

I know it’s a minor issue but how come Apple map doesn’t even show the actual Starbucks shop in his case?? All it shows is the Safeway one without saying it’s Safeway.

Another win for google.

Apple Maps is certainly a serviceable option and has some great features such as A) lighting up the iPhone’s screen before an upcoming turn to show you the path B) having the Apple Watch vibrate a certain pattern to let you know which direction (left or right) to turn if you’re having a conversation and want silent directions or C) 3D flyover to get a better visual of an area than just satellite view from top down.

That being said, I don’t think anyone would argue against the claim that Google Maps has more accurate POI and traffic data overall. I say simply download the Google Maps app and be done with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you continue using Apple Maps knowing it has less accurate data then there’s not much to really complain about if you get wrong info every know and then...

POI is better on google maps anyway, depending on the area and google sources a lot data from users which Apple map doesn’t.

Everything else as well? Don't think so, Deborah. :)

Both Apple and Google Maps can be wrong sometimes. Frustrating for the OP but, life happens sometimes.

But one very nice aspect I love about Google Maps ... Street View.
When looking at an address I have not been to before, this option gives me a quick look at the address. Even if out of date a bit, it still usually helps. ;)

Send a fix to Apple through the Maps app and they should be able to update it.

Tap the place to make the info show up, then scroll down to see "Report An Issue..." Tap that, and you can do things like adjust the pin's location or clarify exactly where the store's entrance is.

Here, I'd say to write Apple a note that there are two Starbucks locations in that particular strip mall.

After a few weeks or so, you'll probably get a notification that the issue was fixed.

Apple maps is trash to me. I went to a ninja warrior type fitness place last weekend and as I was heading the direction to the place Apple maps all of the sudden told me to turn around in the opposite direction and head to another random business park that was way away from my destination and told me the business was in the middle of the parking lot, not even to a wrong business location... Still scratching my head over that one. Google maps got me there but instead of telling me to turn into the place it skipped that turn and had me go down the road a bit and make a U turn but at least it got me there. Neither are perfect but I cant tell how many times Apple maps has had me go some *** backwards way that for the most part didn't even get me to my intended location. I'd use Waze but that thing just eats away at my battery.

Did you report it to Apple?

I sent 6 or 7 map corrections to apple over a year ago.
No response, and they remain unchanged (wrong).

That is one of the challenges.
I used to. After a couple years of seeing minimal traction on fixes, I stopped.
I can see many not even taking that much effort.
It gets frustrating.
I've sent in a few, and while not all of them got fixed, many of them did (maybe 70% success rate, I guess).

I don't foresee anything happening as I've done that as well and I see some of the same issues in different situations.

Hats off to your effort.
I will say I have seen most fixed eventually, my pet peeve, I watched the medical transport take my wife to the emergency room, and I ask Siri for directions, Siri tried to send me to an animal hospital (same first business name) almost 700 miles away. That took three years to fix. I used to get a kick out of demoing that to friends... ;)

Siri needs to be scrapped and rebuilt to be a true assistant. Or let us access Google.

I agree, Siri and Apple maps need major improvements!

My experience as well. I've reported roads in my neighborhood because Apple routes them around to a road that doesn't exist causing people to not be able to locate my address.

I've never received a response.
