Has anyone else experienced the following:
1) Get in your car.
2) Connect to CarPlay
3) Bring up Apple Maps
4) You have an appointment in your calendar displayed on the map.
5) You select it to route.
6) Maps only gives you the choice of one route that is the fastest which may be going over a toll road.

This issue, for me is frustrating because I have AVOID Tolls enabled and still CarPlay only auto selects the route going through a toll road. If I manually select the same appointment from the calendar then only am I given the choice of multiple routes and select the route that avoids going through a toll road. I have sent a video of this to Apple. As far as I know this bug has existed since iOS 12. I was hoping this would have been fixed in iOS 13.

Yep. Get this for work everyday. There’s a better route but it always suggests a route that may be slightly faster at the start but could change any second (I95 GWB NJ - NY). I have to go back and select from the main screen.

Also sent Apple a “better route” report a few months ago with no reply. They did fix an issue with my work address though.

An update. Reported this to Apple along with a video showing the issue. Engineers gathered logging off my phone to help diagnose the issue.

Given how close we are to iOS 14 being announced, I don’t expect this to be resolved in iOS 13.

If you are interested in seeing a video I shot on the issue: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jhdntrozn94h68p/CarPlay routing issue.mov?dl=0

Another update: Apple responded back that this issue has been reported by a few other users. They are looking into the issue and suggest to manually select the event from the calendar until they issue a software fix (whenever that may happen).

Another update: Apple called me today, they aren't going to fix this in iOS 13 because iOS 14 release is in a couple of months. There are going to be major changes to the way routing and routes suggestions are made in iOS 14. Fortunately, my iPhone 6s+ is supported in iOS 14.

That’s good news. Thanks for the update
