Title says it all. Apple Maps frequently has me turn the opposite direction that seems logical, only to have me make a u-turn at an arbitrary location to head back the right way.
iphone 7, iOS 12.01

Welcome to Apple Maps! Its significantly improved from previous editions, but still experience some incorrect driving directions.

So it's not just me :) I have never seen this with iOS 10, 11. I really want to rely on Apple's mapping app vs google.

I rarely use Apple Maps. Maybe it has improved more, but I mainly use Google Maps. My trust level for Apple Maps is extremely low unless I already know how to get to the place. lol

Both Apple and Google maps did that to me last week in Texas. Lots of construction going on and nothing has been updated on either.

Heck, even without construction, I've had Google Maps do it to me on numerous occasions over the years. Last time was just a week ago: Google wanted me to go four miles past the left lane turnout to a different turnout and u-turn back. Years ago, it wanted me to drive past the main entrance of a national park and then u-turn back and cross over the highway to the main entrance vs simple turn right into the park.

Once both apps put the location of same business on the wrong corners. Google tried to send me down a one-way street in the wrong direction on a different occasion (and that one-way had been there for decades).

Both apps have their moments, but, have not had issue with Apple in a while. Then again, I only pull up a map app occasionally, and will generally do the map lookup at home, before heading out and not blindly trusting while already in the car.

I've only had something like that happen once...made me get off an exit on a highway only to have me U-turn at the top of the exit to get back on again.

I chalked it up to an extremely rare case of traffic info changing during the time I was on the exit ramp.

Anxiously waiting for additional Maps updates beyond Northern California!! Have been using Maps almost exclusively since June without issue (other then time checking out Google and Waze on CarPlay).

Google maps did that to me today, was very confused as I had a basic idea of where I was going.
