Apple maps

does anybody use this instead of google maps? Tried it the other day and while the layout is better it's still not as accurate to me. A petrol station as it turned out was a good 1 mile off than what it said it was. Same when testing it on my way home.

Does anybody here think it's accurate for them?

I have had much better luck with Apple Maps than Google Maps, in several different countries.

For road layout & traffic accuracy Waze beats both Apple Maps @ Google, in my experience. However, both Apple & Google seem to offer smoother routing options - easier to follow and sticking to the main roads, while Waze will often try to take you on a side road to save a minute on a two hour drive.

Why do you use waze? I looked at it again, and it still requires constant access to location, even when it's not being used. That alone will eat into battery life, not to mention why does it even need it?

I find that Google Maps shows traffic very well, at least in my area. If I see yellow, congestion, if I see red, more than likely traffic is stopped.

In my experience Waze still has a superior response speed to ever-changing traffic conditions & road layouts.

As for the constant access to one's location, Waze has a "power" button in the right top corner of its main screen that will put it into a "sleep mode", so no more tracking or battery drain between use. Google Maps still directs me the wrong way on a one-way street in my area, so I cannot trust it much.

I will keep on checking how all three of them (Google, Maps & Waze) evolve, though.
