Houston, TX..... (keep walking)
Is it me or is the macbook memory option cheap? ... for $100 additional you get 1GB total ram. Crucial charges $160 for 2 x 512 = 1GB... (and your are then stuck with 2 x 256).

Never thought of Apple memory to be cheap

Yeah with the latest lines of Apple computers the price for 1GB has seriously come down. The 2GB option still costs way too much though. I think Apple realise that 512MB/1GB is now quickly becoming the norm for new computers.

Having said that, if I were to buy a MacBook now I'd get the memory off of eBay, 2 gigs doesn't actually cost that much on there, way cheaper than Crucial.

Haven't seen any interest for 2x256MB sticks on ebay.... let alone find someone who is going to pay $60

Once i do my RAM upgrade i plan on giving one of my 256MB sticks to a friend that has a MBP. My MB RAM should work in his MBP, right? I will probably just hold onto the other 256 stick just in case a problem arises.
