I'm trying to migrate data from a Windows 10 PC to a Mac. For that it is necessary to install Apple's "Windows Migration Assistant" on the PC. After that the data migration usually works similar to the migration from Mac to Mac.
However, in this case the Windows Migration Assistant shows several seconds after starting it the message "An error occurred while preparing your data for transfer." Restarting the PC, uninstalling and restarting and reinstalling, trying to do this in a brand new "empty" user - all does not work.
All antivirus or firewall software on the PC is, of course, disabled.
I have been for one hour on the phone with Apple, talked with three different advisors from three different levels - they all started always from the beginning but basically had not even an idea what this error message might mean. In my opinion the problem is the Apple software on the PC.
I understand that this problem can probably not be solved here. But I thought that _maybe_ somebody here had the same problem and found a solution. I would appreaciate that a lot.
