Clearly, I'd like Apple Music to just work.
I got over my huffing and puffing on launch day. My library was setup back to normal via the backup I have and changing the iTunes Library.itl name etc. and had my Mac, iPhone, and iPad to NOT have Apple Music and iCML on.
I figured the servers have calmed down and that Apple maybe hard at work on the backend fixing things as the calls come in and their engineers read through the forums (we can dream right?)
So last night before bad, I made another backup of my Music folder within the Media folder of iTunes. On the Mac and turned on Apple Music and iCloud Music Library. It's been uploading whatever it's unloading since last night and should be done by the time I get home from work.
So far I haven't noticed any artwork changes and my library seems to be the way I've always kept it. So far so good, unlike the first try.
Once everything is done uploading, I'll turn on Apple Music/iCML on my iDevices and try to use it as normal.
One issue I don't like, is that when I search it has tabs for Apple Music and My Music. My fear is that if I choose Apple Music by mistake or by not paying attention, it'll overwrite what I actually have in My Music with an Apple Music file, thus ruining my library (again). But I'll be doing that test tonight. It would seem silly to offer me a track that I already have. It should just give me what I have when I ask for it.
I'm hearing that adding songs to playlists is working better, but I'll also confirm it's working as it should.
I'll report back on my findings later.
