So Apple Music on my iPhone is constantly on shuffle. Hitting the shuffle button doesn’t appear to give any visual representation that shuffle is turned on or off it just gives another random track.
I’m using an iPhone 8+ on the latest version of iOS, anybody got ideas for a fix?
I’m away from home at the moment so I can’t check but could the issue being caused by having shuffle enabled on another device?
I listen to a lot of live albums and this is ruining the experience.

I just found a buisness insider article which gave me the solution. You get another shuffle button if you swipe up on the now playing screen.
That did have a visual representation and I now have it turned off. Something so simple has been annoying the life out of me for weeks.

there
I remember in 2013, while starting a 6 mile forest hike, the ipod touch was on shuffle. Since the iOSX was upgraded the prevoius night, i had no idea how to reset that, until a kid helped me in 3 seconds get the music to play in order.

This comment from Danny842003 worked for me thanks!
I attached pictures to show that on the play screen, you first need to select the list icon in bottom right.

The screen then changes to show shuffle and repeat buttons at top right which will toggle them between light and dark when selected.

When will Apple make it unnecessary to do this complicated workaround?
