Apple Music and CDs Loaded in iTunes

I have various CD's loaded up on iTunes. These are CDs I own - one of these for example is Long Road Out of Eden by the Eagles. I also subscribe to Apple Music. However whilst I can play these CD track via iTunes on my Mac some, but not all, of the tracks are greyed out in Apple Music (which means the tracks are also not available via Sonos). One of the tracks, as an example, is I Dreamed There Was No War. There are other CDs impacted by this as well.

Can anybody help resolve this? In the meantime I think I shall embark upon a trial of Spotify....just in case.

Any track not matched to their catalog should have been uploaded to their servers, and available to you in Apple Music. Did you skip the scanning & uploading step?

I never physically did anything after subscribing to Apple Music it all happened automatically, except in the case of one or two CDs where some, but not all, of the tracks are not available via Apple Music.

Is there a way to force a scan/upload or rescan/re-upload? It may well be a step that I have missed somewhere!

You could try deleting the problem tracks from your library, then adding them again.

You mean delete album from iTunes and then reload the CD?

You keep mentioning "cd". You rip the cd to mp3/aac or whatever, once, then put it in storage or garbage can or give it away.

Obviously, but how else do I delete the problem tracks? My assumption is that you are suggesting I delete them from iTunes and if so the only way I can replace them is from the cd. Or are you suggesting delete from Apple Music somehow?

You replace them from the backup you made. You did make a backup of your library, right?

Sorry but you are just confusing me. I have a back-up of the CD tracks, of course I do, on an external drive and the original CD. You have suggested I delete the tracks and I am asking if you mean delete them from the iTunes library? I imagine that is all you can mean, delete the tracks from the iTunes library and then reinstated them from the backup or from the original CD - my choice!

In some cases you can right click on the track on your PC in iTunes, and it will give you the option to upload to iCloud Music Library if it doesn't yet exist.
