In the first years of Itunes i used it to put all my full albums in it. I have about 300 full albums, it looked a bit like my LP shelf at home. They were perfectly organised. i loved it. Now with Apple music and access to millions of songs and a "for you" tab with suggestions it's very nice to discover new music, but sometimes i hear a song and would love to add it to a playlist i created without it appearing in my music and messing up my "LP shelf" :) it's like hearing a song, burning that one song to a disk and throw it in that shelf ! i don't want that.

is there a possibility to add songs to a playlist without having them in my music ? If not apple music is useless to me and i have to go back to spotify :/

I feel your pain... I'm in the same boat. I began to fill my library with 1-song albums purely because that song was in a playlist I created.
Unfortunately there's currently no way for those songs not to show - I've posted on many forums and spoken to 2 Apple Support reps and they've all said "No".
I've sent off feedback but, for now, that's all we can do so we're left with a messy library just to satisfy our playlist creation urges or.... don't create playlists.

hmm that's a pitty. i hope they fix this in my trial period so i can use spotify premium next to apple music without paying for both of them.

Agree - may well be obsesive compulsive, but I also like a neat and tidy album / artist list. Now it's full of single song albums that are on my playlists.

This is not something that is going to be "fixed" - iTunes has worked this way for years and they are simply keeping the same functionality.

I agree though that it's annoying.

I've, for the most part, gotten over this oversight by Apple Music. I actually segregated my own iTunes library and Apple Music. I always had a different email for all iTunes purchases than my iCloud email used on my iOS devices. So for Apple Music I decided to leave my iTunes account behind and move over to my iCloud email for all iOS devices.

This allowed me to "rebuild" my purchased and iTunes match collection in Apple Music without getting the two libraries mixed. So, my iTunes with "my" collection is on my iMac while Apple Music is on my iOS devices and MacBook Pro. This also allows me to sync my iPods on my iMac without worrying about being locked out from Apple Music files!

Now, when I add singles and the like to my Apple Music collection I'm ok seeing singles, EPs and the like that aren't full albums.

Not to hijack this thread, but I didn't feel like making a whole new thread, but does anyone know if it is possible to view a Smart Playlist or any playlist on an iOS device by Album like you can sort on iTunes on a Mac? Reason I ask is I've made several Smart Playlists for my Apple Music collection such as "Albums released in 2014" or "Albums released in 2015" and for some reason the music on the iOS devices shows up randomly, not sorted in ANY way, even after sorting the playlist manually by artist on iTunes on my MacBook Pro.
