Apple Music Format and Bit Rate ?

Any idea what format (is it lossless) and what Bit Rate does Apple Music stream its music ?

Here is some good info on AAC. It is a lossy audio coding standard (not lossless).

It's usually a good argument. Like here, the OP asked if 256 kbps AAC was lossless but anyone that knows about lossless knows that lossless doesn't encode to a specific bitrate. The resulting bitrates are always higher than 256, and they're usually 800+ kbps. So I thought it was especially apt here haha.

To answer your question, it's 256 kbps on "high quality" as Julien said above.
