It's usually a good argument. Like here, the OP asked if 256 kbps AAC was lossless but anyone that knows about lossless knows that lossless doesn't encode to a specific bitrate. The resulting bitrates are always higher than 256, and they're usually 800+ kbps. So I thought it was especially apt here haha.
To answer your question, it's 256 kbps on "high quality" as Julien said above.
