Last year when I renewed my Apple Music, I purchased an Apple Music gift card at my local drugstore for $99 for one year.

My subscription just ended and I went to buy a new card and all I see are iTunes and App Store cards.

Has Apple discontinued the Apple Music gift card?

I believe Apple discontinued the Apple Music gift card branding to minimize confusion. The Apple Music gift card might appear to some that it can only be used for music which was not the case.

Today, Apple markets the "App Store & iTunes Gift Card" which can be redeemed for Apple Music. It can also be used for iOS apps, Mac apps, TV shows, movies, Apple TV+, Apple News+, Apple Arcade, etc.

There may be some retailers who are still selling the old Apple Music card from existing inventory until it is depleted.

You don't even need this. You can renew for $99/yr from your account.

You can still purchase iTunes gift cards and redeem them for the $99/yr Apple Music rate, though.

They also did away with the physical Apple Store gift cards... that was a shame... it was an easy to save for a new purchase... pick up a $100 STORE gift card every payday and soon, I had enough for what ever shiny new kit happened to catch my eye... you can still get them in the physical Apple stores and online, but that's a hassle... plus there was the added benefit of picking the cards up at my local Kroger affiliate (Fry's) which gave me 'points' towards discounted gas at their stations.

<apologies for slightly off-topic rant>
