Can somebody check how many songs are greyed out on Dave Pearce 90s Dance Anthems in UK.

Trying to work out if cancelling iTunes Match has caused problems. I can only play 9 of 63 tracks?

Help Appreciated.

Songs that are grayed out means they're no longer available or were never available due to licensing issues or whatever. I don't use Apple Music anymore because I found this immensely annoying.

Many thanks. My kids prefer the compilations & Apple Music doesn't even have Now! albums. Not good for a streaming service costing £15 per month.

On looking on Spotify. I've just looked at the last couple of Now albums (Now 91 & Now 92) both have tracks greyed out, so perhaps there is licensing issues with music streaming services for these compilation albums.

Thanks for the info. I really like Apple Music and the way it works with my iPhone and iMac. Reluctant to get rid in the hope it will improve.

I was just searching the same issue and the same Album. This might have just changed my mind on Apple Music now. :(

I refuse to use Spotify not much of a selection in regards to the music i'm interested in...

It's a shame Apple music has the content, but they do all this to make it basically non-usable.... I dunno wheather which album will change artwork the next time i sign in... It's their own albums , not mine..... U'd think they can get (that) correct... so now i record it all.... i'm had enough..

I just signed up for the Apple Music 3 month trial, and have been a Google Play Music subscriber for about a year now. I have been trying to setup Apple Music in the same way that I have Google Play Music setup (basically adding everything that I listen to into my music library), and I am noticing that the Apple Music service seems to not offer a lot of music that is available on Google Play Music. What's worse is when it appears that Apple Music offers the same, and then I find out the an album is missing tracks. I was surprised to find this out, and at this point I am not quite sure what to do.

I was always reluctant to subscribe to a music service, but I figured since I usually buy 1 or 2 albums a month, that the monthly cost was justified. But if these services are going to start having problems with offering music via their streaming services - then I will end up losing on both ends, since I have been paying each month - but if the music I listen to is taken away, in the end - I will wind up owning nothing and not being able to listen to the music I wish to.

I wasn't aware of this issue when I signed up for Apple Music. I had blindly thought that anything available on iTunes would be available via Apple Music. Since that is not the case, and artists and labels may continue to pull their music off of Apple Music - I cannot understand why Apple does not throw in iTunes Match with an Apple Music subscription so that I can fill in the gaps that they have. That would resolve a lot of issues, and make me a lot happier about the service.

That being said, I really love the idea of Apple Music. Google Play Music seems to have its own set of issues - but for me, their catalog seems more complete right now. I'm hoping Apple realizes this and eventually throws in iTunes Match for Apple Music subscribers...

iTunes Match is kind of what happens when you load any music in iTunes. Ex. there are a few tracks that Apple Music does not have or are grayed out. I just add them from my local music storage to iTunes on my Mac and they upload to the cloud and are available on any of my devices.

whsbuss, I did not realize this. I thought if I had my iCloud music library turned on (I have set this so that I can download Apple Music offline for items I listen to a lot), that I would no longer be able to add music locally to my iTunes library. At least that is what I thought I had read...

I will have to try this - if it works then I am going to be really happy! Thanks!

[EDIT] Ok, so I just tried it and it appears to have worked. In iTunes it is showing the CDs that used to not be available along with the album art. The cloud symbol, though is strange, as it is made up of a bunch of dots instead of the normal cloud symbol - does anyone know what that means??

[EDIT 2] Well, even though I have it in my iTunes library now - it appears that I can no longer sync that album with my phone - which was really the point. Maybe that was what I had read when I thought it couldn't be done. I'm still wondering what the perforated cloud symbol means next to the tracks I added - hopefully it means that it will show up in Apple Music at some point? To me it seems pretty basic that if Apple offers a service with an incomplete catalog, and if I already own the music that they do not have available, that they offer a way that I can get it on my iPhone while still using their subscription service... So I am hopeful that there is a resolution to this issue.

[EDIT 3] So it appears the perforated cloud was showing tracks that were being uploaded to Apple Music. The tracks I added are now available on my iPhone as well. It seems to work like iTunes match in that these tracks are available only to my account and not other members of the family share (I checked on my daughters phone). This seems like a reasonable solution to me.

Thank you whsbuss for replying to my post and leading me down the path to resolution of my issue. Apple Music is somewhat confusing in how it works, so hopefully this helps others who are trying to add their own music to fill in the gaps that the Apple Music catalog has.
