Ok,
im an Apple fan, an evangelist, only product i've ever missed is the Watch. I have never complained about what i considered to be acceptable problems such as when Apple Maps or Mobile Me was launched (and i was obviously a subscriber).

But now i have spent close to 10 hours of my life simply to try fixing my freaking Music library (obviously yes, i am also an Itunes Match subscriber).

List of problems in random order, im not here for help (already tried), this post is just to warn people NON TO JOIN now and wait. And yes, i believe i do have the right to be VERY upset, because this has not been labelled as a beta, and it has fcked up my music.
Bear in mind that i am a freaking nerd, i mean i am used to solve big problems by entering terminal. Not exactly the average consumer.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN IN THE PAST FEW DAYS:
- Entire library duplicated. More then once.
- Library not syncing across iDevices and Mac.
- Close to 30 times each device resetting iCloud and re-downloading everything.
- Impossible to download all tracks from the cloud in a consumer acceptable way. Had to create 20 smart playlists for clusters of songs...
- ...but the playlists keep on duplicating at random across devices....
- ....and for each and everyone i have to explain not to please download freaking gigabytes od MOVIES, i thought this was called MUSIC.
- ...spent 1 hour "liking" artists and songs? guess what, all the likes have gone...
- ...oh, and everything is done on a fiber optic connection...
- ...but there's no reliable way to download the 100s of songs from the cloud. So what? I just download on the Mac and then sync?
- ...sure...but then a fantastic double of my library is made, so back to two libraries uploaded and replicated.
- So what do i do? I try to freaking have ONE SINGLE MASTER of my cloud library, ideally what i am doing on the Mac (deleting PERMANENTLY, PLEASE LET ME DELETE PERMANENTLY FROM THE CLOUD) will command the idevices once i open Music on them (obviously after having re-set, re-signed and bla bla bla). But guess what? No. The same freaking hundreds of tracks keep on re-appearing. I keep on permanently deleting them but no, there's no way.
- I love the radio feature: its recommendations are great. Only problem is that at random they don't recognize an artist, Amen...i'll manually add that artist to my music. So i search for it, add its albums...twenty times. On the Mac i can't add. So i fire up the ipad...choose the albums....and voila! I have the new songs...alongside with another 500 that i didnt want.
- And did i mention that playlists created on the mac take hours to sync, that is, IF they ever sync? In the meanwhile, my fantastic cloud does not know what device is "leading" and keeps on duplicating.

There are more, and yes i would simply shut it down, go back to Spotify and come back in a few months. BUT MY FREAKING LIBRARY IS MESSED UP.

I dont expect solutions, again this is just a pure RANT: this time Apple has made a big, big whithdrawal from its reputation account in my bank. Honestly i never cared about all this stuff, but now i dont feel confident at all knowing that Apple has in this cloud mess all my payment data, password and the likes. And believe i couldnt care less about all the privacy stuffs etc. The problem here is that this thing not only does not work, and i wouldnt mind as i would simply wait, BUT IT BREAKES WHAT WAS OK BEFORE.

10 hours of my life wasted trying to fix the thing. + 5 minutes to write the rant.

I didn't read all of it, but most will agree that Apple Music was/is a rushed service and will take a while to fix.

I agree that it's a train wreck. So many problems!!

Strange that Apple tried to cram in so much functionality rather than start lite and build up functionality over the course of time. There is too much on offer and most of it doesn't actually work in the "real-world".

Probably worked in a test lab but real world the train came off the tracks on the first corner.

The same thing has happened to me. I ended up restoring my library but now I can't use Apple Music because it's requiring me to enable iCloud music library, which messes everything up.

I guess I will go back to Spotify until they fix all of this.

The more I read this kind of stuff, the happier I am that I never signed up for iTunes Match, because the really big problems seem to be with iTunes Match subscribers. My library has not been messed up, and my playlists synch with immediate smoothness. With just a few minor workarounds, I have been able to tailor Apple Music into something nice.

I feel for the people though whose libraries have been messed up. That must be an absolute nightmare. And these are the people who actually paid for iTunes Match, so the people who have invested not only time but also money have been hit the hardest.

You should always backup your music collection on an external hard drive, flash drive and even back it up onto another cloud service like OneDrive.

I'm a match subscriber and I've had no issues at all - it works perfectly and my library wasn't messed up at all. I guess it's random chance but I'm more than happy with Apple Music

Same here. After some initial speed (bug?) bumps, I am now enjoying a stable library. Adding songs is almost immediate, and I can edit artwork/other metadata and it will show on all devices.

Now currently uploading my Beatles collection and so far it's uploading everything because they have no discography (thankfully!) on AM...otherwise the mono tracks would be replaced by stereo ones and who knows what other nightmares.

Definitely - you can't have too many backups!
My local music is backed up locally, backed up to CrashPlan online, copied to Google Drive and backed up from there using Spanning Backup (it's a Google apps account)

Well lucky for you all, but it looks like I won't be using Apple Music until they fix the mess. I've tried re-enabling iCloud Library multiple times and have had the same issues every time. Until Apple fixes it, I guess it's back to Spotify.

And that's OK too. Nothing wrong with choosing them.
