I'm currently frustrated with Apple Music, and the way that it doesn't allow you to adjust the 'year' of a track to the original release date, instead of the date of the album the track came from on iTunes.
For example, Funny Face by Donna Fargo was released in 1972. If you purchase the track on iTunes from the '20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection: Best of Donna Fargo' (I need to lie down after typing that album title) then the track is given a year of 2002. This means that should you favourite the track expecting it to appear in your '70's Favourites' smart playlist, it will not appear, because Apple Music thinks it's a 2002 release. You can't change the year in Apple Music, and it appears that Apple have restricted the ability in (PC) File Explorer to change the year too.
I've submitted a suggestion via the beta feedback app to add a column titled similar to 'original release date' to accurately reflect the original release date, as the 'release date' and 'year' columns currently do not allow the smart playlist feature to add tracks based on original track release dates.
