I am trying to make music "Available Offline" whether it be a song or a whole album and it seems that about ⅓ of the time I only get 8 of 10 tracks on an album and the rest are greyed out. I called Apple and they told me this is a "known issue" (this was about a month ago) and that an update should solve this problem. I am getting really ticked off with Apple Music. Are other people experiencing this same type of problem? Just curious and also curious to see if you know of a fix other than going back into the library and making the missing track(s) "Available Offline" and then hoping they push to the device on the second try. Thanks. At my wits end...

Can only say I have never had that problem during the trial nor on paid family subscription.

Greyed out tracks in an album listing usually mean that they are not licensed for (and are unavailable through) Apple Music. Are you able to stream the files? If not, it is not an error, they are just not available through AM.

I've been having this happen and it really ticks me off! I just want to sync MY music I want (like we used to) and them "make available offline" from apple music that i don't own....

if i OWN the album i should be able to download it to my device!

I feel your pain and agree. I never liked the iTunes model to begin with, as I often add additional remixes and alternate tracks to albums in my library. Using ICML forces me to categorize my music their way, which is not acceptable for me. As a Showtune fan, I don't want 40 albums of Various Artists, which are all listed separately by artist track in a jumble labeled as a compilation on a separate tab. Likewise, Apple has never solved the "greatest hits" issue, often confusing songs by different artists.

The solution I described above using WALTR works best for me on my iPhone. On android, Google Music was far superior, letting me opt to upload what I wanted to the cloud, but I do love the AM integration with Siri, which did not work well using "OK Google".

correct, if the songs appear in your playlist greyed out, then it means they probably won't play and have been removed from Apple music, thus the reason u won't be able to download the entire album..

If they play ok,, try turning off iCloud Music Library, signing out, and back into iTunes, turn on iCloud Music Library, and try downloading the album again. See what happens.. Another thing could be try de-authorising/re-authoring. in Account..

May work as well - "update iCloud Music library" from File menu >> library.

Well said, I agree!

I'm happy that Apple's so wealthy and successful. I hate the greed that prevents them from providing us with their best work.

I have quite a few albums I own uploaded via iTunes to iCML and I never have an issue to make them available offline (download) to any of my iOS devices.
