When I'm at home my Apple Music refuses to play music either from the cloud or through Apple Music's radio stations. It's super laggy. It plays for a few seconds, pauses, plays again for a few seconds, lags again. It's very frustrating. I've talked with my ISP (CenturyLink), and have confirmed that my wifi is working just fine (giving me about 30-35 mbps). Everything else works fine over my home wifi, including streaming live baseball games on MLB.tv, watching hulu/netflix, watching tv/movies through iTunes/Apple TV, surfing the internet, etc. In fact, even streaming NPR through Apple Music works just fine. This problem is occurring through all methods of using Apple Music, including my Apple TV, my iPhone and my wife's iPhone, and my brand new iMac. When I switch my phone over to my cell network (instead of wifi), everything works just fine.

It seems like this would be an internet/wifi issue, but all other apps and services are working fine. Does anyone have any insight or recommendations? Thanks!

The common thread seems to be Apple's network/servers. Maybe you should have CenturyLink or Apple support check out the connections from them to you.

Thanks so much for the suggestion. Has this been a common problem for people? Is it possible that Apple's connection from them to me could be terrible just for Apple Music, and just for Apple Music to my home internet connection. I'm so clueless on this kind of stuff.

I have noticed from time to time a server connection and/or network congestion that causes a song or two to hang. Its not a common occurrence but it can definitely be an issue. They can do checks, like traceroute to see how well and what path to Apple's network.

Great stuff. Thanks so much, I'll give this a shot.
