Hey there

I have a big Collection of much loved Music on my Mac desktop. I use the apple Music app. Since a few months i miss a few nice features. I cannot rate tracks withs stars anymore. Is there a way to reimplement star rating for songs?
Another problem I've encountered is a annoying way to search for songs or artists in the music app. When i start to search my in music, it sometimes searches online from the apple music store; instead of the wanted search of my own music Library. Is there a way to disable the online search in the Program?
Any help and hints appreciated!

You didn't mention your OS version or Mac versions.

When searching are you selecting "Your Library"?

Thanks for your reply. I use Monterey 12.3 (21E230) and following Version of Music:

The star Rating doesn't appear on my App:

About the search function. You're right. When I do my first search in Apple Music there appears this Icon on the right side of the window:

So I do my first search, and find something in my own library. Everything good so far.

But if I do a second search, the program starts to search in the Apple Music store (as you can see in the following screenshots):

-this is how my second search looks like:

There's a setting in 'Preferences' on the 'General' tab - show Star ratings

They have messed about with this over the years though, just like everything else...

I can set it from the 'get info' for a track (or selection of tracks), in song playlists (if that column is visible) or right click on an item in the Playing next list. Probably others...
